Work / Life Balance : Myth or Reality?
We know what it’s like running a business… sometimes it can take up your entire life!
They bring us joy and satisfaction but it’s very easy for businesses to take over our lives. We at A4C have come up with some ways you can help keep your head above water and find a perfect work/life balance:
Taking Time Off
It’s very important that you take time off and enjoy some time away from your business! Many of us are guilty of starting the day before 09:00 and finishing way after 17:00 especially at in the early stages of businesses. Take some time off before exhaustion sets in.
Without a good night’s sleep our mental and physical performance decreases! We can handle one late night here and there but prolonged sleep deprivation makes you feel fatigued and starts to have detrimental effects on your business. Sure, you’ll put in less time but it’s the time you dedicate will be more productive.
Quality over quantity.
Putting all of your time into your business inevitably means your friends and family will fall by the wayside. Make time for simple get-togethers, even if it’s a quick cup of tea and a chat…socialising works wonders for our mood and gets us away from thinking about work related problems.
What are you waiting for? Pick up the phone and give your friend a call!
Maybe you already take some time off but don’t sleep or maybe you sleep 8 hours a night but don’t make time to socialise…it’s important to find a balance. Otherwise you may find your mood and sanity taking a dip which can have negative repercussions for your business!
Balance is the key
If you struggle to achieve a work / life balance because you spend too much time balancing the books then perhaps you need some help?
Keeping on top of your business admin is a tedious and stressful task for a lot of people and when your day is done it’s the last thing you want to think about.
At A4C we are passionate about helping businesses to thrive, keeping business owners sane and doing something we love!
